Join us to celebrate the successes of the EZMSA over the last year, recognize the achievement of our colleagues who won awards, bid on a silent item auction to support the local charity Streetworks and have fun. Friends and family are welcome. Cocktails and dinner will be served along with access to the Art Gallery of Alberta.

PHYSICIAN INNOVATOR OF THE YEAR
This award will be presented to the physician who in their practice of medicine:
adopts and implements new concepts, research, or technology to improve previous practices of medicine;
changes how medicine is practiced;
injects creativity and/or fun into the process of their work to determine improved ideas and ways of doing things; or
implements quantitative, qualitative and quality assurance projects that have improved the care of patients.
Innovators can be involved in any area of the practice of medicine, including but not limited to:
Clinical practice
Community practice
Research
Teaching/Mentoring
Administration
LIFE ACHIEVEMENT AWARD - MEDAL OF SERVICE
The Life Achievement Award is presented to an outstanding frontline and retired (or close to retirement) practitioner who practiced in the Edmonton Zone. The recipient must have made contributions in at least two of these areas:
going above and beyond to serve patients and the profession when the individual practiced;
leaving the environment better than when they entered;
teaching/mentoring;
advocating for patients and/or the profession;
being dedicated to compassionate healthcare improvement and improving patient care; or
previously improving the health of patients and/or the community.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH AWARD
Awarded to a physician or team that shows dedication and commitment to underserved patient populations. This person or team shows dedication to improving the lives of patient and communities.
In particular, the physician or team will be recognized for:
going above and beyond serving their patients and community;
working with marginalized or under serviced populations;
following patients along the continuum of care and their medical journey including end of life; or
reaching out to patients in their medical home (e.g. home visits).
