CAMSS Physician Advisor Program

The CAMSS Physician Advisor Program was established in August 2024 to support physicians facing workplace adversity. To assist Calgary-area physicians in navigating workplace challenges, disputes, conflicts, and bullying, CAMSS has engaged Dr. Amanda Brisbois as an expert advisor. Physicians often struggle to navigate Alberta’s professional landscape when facing such concerns, and Dr. Brisbois brings over two decades of experience as a practicing physician. She has served as a Facility Medical Director, holds specialized training in conflict resolution and mediation, and is certified in coaching. Her expertise makes her an invaluable leader in fostering positive workplace culture and psychological safety.

Physicians accessing this program can be assured of strict confidentiality and are eligible for up to six hours of support. To connect with the program, visit amandabrisboismd.com or email Dr. Brisbois directly at drbfreecoaching@gmail.com

CAMSS Position on Measles

Calgary Area Medical Staff Society members would like Albertans to know that measle infections are entirely preventable. Measles vaccination rates in the Calgary area are currently below the threshold required to prevent outbreaks. Measles is an extremely contagious virus that can lead to severe complications including encephalitis and pneumonia. Further, infection with measles can cause death, specifically 1 to 3 of every 1,000 people who develop measles will die. To protect public health, CAMSS strongly recommends that all Albertans born after 1970 receive two doses of the MMR vaccine.

CAMSS Position in Water Fluoridation

The Calgary Area Medical Staff Society recognizes that community water fluoridation effectively prevents tooth decay, especially among people who are most vulnerable. It offers significant benefit with very low risk and reaches all residents who are connected to a municipal water supply. Calgary Area Medical Staff Society endorses community water fluoridation as a foundational public health measure to prevent dental disease and improve oral health.
