Check out the new and improved Physicians’ Lounge at SHC!

The Physicians’ Lounge at SHC is underutilized, and we have been on a mission to change that since 2018! If you have ever spent time in the Physicians’ Lounge you may have noticed that it’s not somewhere you would want to spend a lot of time…

We have ameliorated the lounge space to make it more comfortable and inviting for all physicians at SHC. We believe that this lounge will be a place where physicians can come to collaborate with colleagues, find respite between difficult cases or relax while on-call.

The MSA also hosts various events in an effort to keep physicians informed on timely topics, foster collegiality, provide opportunities to socialize with colleagues and build a community at SHC. This improved lounge will allow us to host even more events and activities for physicians going forward.

These changes have been made possible by the hard work and determination of SHC Medical Staff Association Executives (both past and present) and AHS liaisons. The project has been funded by the SHC MSA and CAMSS, as well as in-kind contributions by AHS.

So, what did we do to the lounge?

  • All new, comfortable, functional and stylish furniture

  • A fresh coat of paint on the walls, in warm and welcoming colors that complement our sleek new furniture

  • Art on the walls

  • New whiteboard and a community message board to share all kinds of information
