FMC MEDICAL STAFF ASSOCIATION DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION AWARD

The FMC MSA wishes to recognize outstanding individual faculty contributions to advancing diversity and inclusion in medicine and at the Foothills Medical Centre.

CALL FOR NOMINATIONS!

The FMC MSA encourages nominations of leaders with significant impact in improving inclusion and diversity of groups that have historically experienced marginalization and underrepresentation including but not limited to the following groups: Indigenous populations, women, ethnic or racialized minorities, minoritized faith groups, differently abled, economically disadvantaged, and sexual minorities (LGBTQ2S+). 

Nomination Process
The committee encourages nominations of established and emerging leaders. Any member of the FMC community may nominate individuals for the award. Self-nominations are also encouraged.  The committee will review all nomination materials. The FMC MSA Diversity and Inclusion award may not always be given every year; awards will be given only when nominees meet the criteria.

The committee will review all nominee submissions for evidence of innovative and substantial contributions that: 

• Promote inclusion and diversity through the individual's accomplishments, including influencing other leaders in the promotion of diversity in medicine

• Encourage and advocate for inclusion and diversity;

• Improve the educational and professional environment for sustaining inclusion and diversity medicine including creating an institutional culture that supports the advancement of diversity in medicine,

• Provide mentorship and sponsorship to support diversity 

• Enhance to the body of knowledge in diversity and inclusion, including presentations and other scholarly work 

Nomination Criteria:

• Nomination letter highlighting the nominee's impact on diversity in medicine in the areas of leadership, advocacy, education and scholarly work 

• Nominee’s abridged curriculum vitae relevant to the nomination (maximum five pages

 NOMINATION DEADLINE: FEBRUARY 26, 2026 @ 11:59 P.M.
