Funding Policy and Application Form 

PART 1: FUNDING POLICY 

1.       Purpose

The NZMSA provides funding to support initiatives that enhance physician wellness, collaboration, and relationships among medical staff across the North Zone.

2.       Guiding Principles

- Alignment with NZMSA priorities

- Benefit to medical staff and patient care

- Promotion of collaboration and improved relationships

- Equity and fairness

- Transparency and accountability

3.       Eligibility

Applicants must be NZMSA members in good standing practicing in the North Zone.

4.       Eligible Expenses

- Group physician wellness initiatives

- Events fostering relationships and collaboration, including local education events

- Engagement events emphasizing collegiality

- Hospitality costs related to approved activities (food and non-alcoholic drinks)

5.       Ineligible Expenses

- Personal expenses unrelated to the activity

- Capital equipment

- Commercial/promotional activities

- Individual wellness initiatives

6.       Funding Limits

- Guideline: up to $50 per medical staff attendee

- Partial funding may be awarded for events exceeding the funding guideline

 7.       Application Process

Submit application at least 4 weeks prior for consideration of funding pre-approval

 8.       Review and Adjudication

Reviewed by NZMSA committee based on alignment and budget.

 9.       Accountability

Recipients must submit receipts to zmsaadmin@albertadoctors.org and a brief report within 60 days of the event and reimbursement up to the approved amount will be provided.
