President: Dr. Charlene Lyndon, M.D. FRCSC
Charlene Lyndon MD is a fifth-generation settler in Treaty 7 Territory. After studying Biology at Queen’s University, she completed medical school at the University of Toronto in 1989. Dr. Lyndon obtained a general license in 1990 and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Dalhousie in 1994. Dr. Lyndon is a Clinical Assistant Professor in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Cumming School of Medicine.
Dr. Lyndon is past-President of Rockyview General Hospital Medical Staff and has been on the CAMSS executive since 2019. Dr. Lyndon supports equity in patient care, strengthening primary care, public healthcare sustainability, diversity and belonging for all physicians in our workplace teams and healthy workplace culture.
Dr. Lyndon understands that undoing ongoing colonialism and specific action to combat anti-Indigenous racism within the healthcare system is critical to success in reconciliation.
Dr. Lyndon enjoys spending time with her daughter, travel,
gardening, hiking, skiing, French classes, and cooking with friends.
President-elect: Dr. Catherine macneil, M.D. FRCPC
Dr. Catherine Macneil is a pediatrician at the Alberta Children's Hospital and a Clinical Associate Professor at the Cumming School of Medicine. She has an interest in patient safety, medication safety, and medical complexity. Though she has affiliations with AHS, the U of C, and the AMA, the position at CAMSS is independent of those roles.
Secretary-Treasurer: Dr. Payman hajiazim, M.D., FRCPC, DRCPSC, ESRS
Dr. Payman Hajiazim completed his MD at Tehran University in 1999 and his residency training at SBMU University in Tehran in 2006. In 2011, he completed the fellowship program of psychotherapy at the University of Toronto before starting his training in sleep medicine in 2012, which ended in 2014.
Dr. Hajiazim moved to Calgary early 2015 and became affiliated with the University of Calgary as a clinical assistant professor in psychiatry and sleep medicine. He is also a full member of the Hotchkiss Brain Institute and a member of the Mathison Center.
Dr. Hajiazim is designated by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Sleep Disorder Medicine as well as Psychiatry. He is recognized as an Expert in the field of Sleep and a certified Somnologist by the European Sleep Research Society. He has been practicing for more than twenty years and the last ten years has been dedicated to the practice in Alberta. Dr. Hajiazim is the founder, CEO, and medical director of the “Sleep and Wake Clinic” in Rockyview Health Centre. He also teaches at the University of Calgary, and he runs research as part of the activities in the field of medicine.
Outside of his practice, research, and administrative work, Dr. Hajiazim enjoys being a father along with biking, running, and travelling.
